Plus he seems to have quit the band according to Clash.
However, all is not lost as the band has been able to get Sammy Fayed from Bixby Knolls to fill in for the tour.
As Spinal Tap so comically observed, drummers can be difficult to keep hold of. Returning with their new album, The Icarus Line were ready to head back out on the road after a lengthy hiatus.
However their rhythm keeper thought otherwise. Packing his bags and issuing a notice of resignation right before the Los Angeles group were due to fly out to Europe, The Icarus Line were thrown into chaos.
Taking advice from the UK, the band simply got on the flight and hoped for the best. Somehow, during the flight, the Los Angeles outfit recruited a new drummer – Sammy Fayed from Bixby Knolls – and by the time they landed had brain stormed a new set.
Even Travis Keller from Buddyhead seems to be disappointed, as he tweeted that “The drummer of @theicarusline fucked us hard, went mia + didn’t make the plane! Sammy from @thebixbyknolls will be filling in!”
