The Icarus Line had one of those shows when they opened up for The Cult at The House of Blues. According to ‘LA Weekly’, The Icarus Line “had an epic hate-set start of the night, getting booed and stuff thrown at them. Singer Joe Cardamone told us that the band played no actual songs, just 30 minutes of dissonance in response“.
Afterwards, Joe Cardamone, “narrowly escaped being lynched by a furious mob of drunk HOB attendees while trying to get my keys from the parking guys. One of them an off duty sherif. People so enraged by sound they wanted to actually cause bodily harm. Thanks to Tom manager of the Cult for keeping them at bay long enough for me to get the fuck out of dodge. You just can’t drop a bomb anymore can ya!?”
