Given that The Icarus Line no longer exist, it’s probably best if I just round up what the key players are up to on a (semi) regular basis:
4th October marked the one year anniversary since Alvin DeGuzman died. Here’s a little writeup to remind you as to what a great person he was.
Travis Keller’s 112 page photo zine – Past Lives – will be available for sale on Monday directly from American Primitive.
I think I might have missed this, but Michael Grodner (of The Icarus Line Must Die) was interviewed way back in April this year by ‘See Hear Podcast’. Check out the full interview here.
The Quietus – the online music website – recommended The Icarus Line’s Slave Vows album as being the 37th best record during its entire 10 year existence. Not a bad little feat, given that it really is an absolutely amazing album (and the band’s career best).
Slave Vows is a masterpiece, its black-hearted explosions and sordid vibes coming from a darker place than most of those pantomiming their way through rock & roll. But while there’s bleakness here, there’s also that sulphurous sound of resistance, of high drama at very real stakes.
