The Icarus Line have secured more reviews for their outstandingly good album Slave Vows.
‘Louder Than War’ give the album an amazing 10/10 and argue that “there has been a lot of talk about Nirvana recently and how they changed music forever and this is true but if only the world could hear The Icarus Line’s stunning new album then rock n roll could be cut loose and set free again“.
‘The Quietus’ too has really good things to say, and argues that the album is “a masterpiece“.
Finally, and after what seems like an eternity, the influential ‘Pitchforkmedia’ also weighs in with its opinion. Giving Slave Vows a 6.9 (out of ten I presume), the website argues that ‘Slave Vows could use a little fine tuning, of course. At 45 minutes it’s shorter than Penance Soiree, but lacks its concision and punch, at times wading a little too deeply into the indulgent waters of burdened, discordant blooze‘.
EDIT:
‘Orlando Weekly’ recently reviewed the album, giving it 4/5 in the process. They argue that Slave Vows is “one of this year’s most surprising and welcome returns“.
